Where better to learn how to prepare delicious Hue recipes than in the most elegant of settings: at one of Hue’s famous garden houses? Set in a lush garden near the citadel, Y Thao is a charming ancient house filled with antiques dating back to imperial era.
The day kicks off with a visit to Hue’s Dong Ba Market, where Mrs Cuc, the owner of the house, will show you some local specialities and teach you how to choose ingredients. Heading back to Y Thao you’ll start your exclusive cooking class, in which you will learn how to prepare a ‘royal’ Hue meal. You will prepare four or five courses, ranging from traditional Vietnamese spring rolls to a delicious banana leaf salad. Most importantly, of course, you will conclude by eating them.
